Love is a defining characteristic of the Christian life (John 13:35). As disciples of Jesus, we want to follow His example and love people well (1 John 4:7–21). Loving others sounds desirable until we encounter people who challenge our idea of what love looks and feels like. Reality hits—loving people well is hard!
When our daughter was engaged to be married, my love for her propelled me through the wedding-planning season. I discovered more about what it means to love like Jesus.
