Worthy Words (May 5)

I didn’t add a new post to the blog this week because I focused all my writing time and energy on my monthly Worthy Words newsletter, which landed in inboxes on Monday.

THE LION WILL ROAR | KRISTIN COUCH

Kristin is, by far, one of my favorite online writers. Equally entertaining and enriching, her descriptive storytelling captivates me every time, and I leave her site inspired, equipped, and edified. It doesn’t really get much better than this.

WORSHIP FOR WORKERS | THE PORTER’S GATE

A beautiful collection of songs to nourish your soul and encourage you as you go about your daily work. This is fitting for any type of work, even the work of everyday faithfulness in the home. A word of warning, one song uses the phrase “busting my ass”, but it’s oh, so relatable.

FIND INSPIRATION FOR EVERY PART OF YOUR WRITING JOURNEY IN SCRIPTURE | LYNN H. BLACKBURN

This article is an excellent complement to my latest free resource for Christian writers. I love how Lynn shares this valuable tip in a personal narrative form. It’s always enjoyable to get a glimpse of what the writing process looks like in the lives of other writers.

FOUR TOOLS FOR OVERCOMING MENTAL BLOCK | LESLIE MCLEOD

On a similar theme, these practical ideas are also inspiring for anyone needing help to get your creativity flowing again.

A FEW THOUGHTS ON DAILY DEVOTIONS | MICAH COLBERT

“I was ten years old when I first started having daily devotions. A godly Sunday School teacher challenged me to read the Bible and pray at least five minutes every day. “I can do that,” I thought, so I accepted her challenge. Little did I know at that time how transformative the practice of daily devotions would be in my spiritual growth and development.”

Thank you for considering these words worthy of your time! To God be all the glory!
